A clean, start to finish
Forty thousand photographs is not a task anybody finishes. Two hundred is. Here is the whole loop — the screen keeps pace as you read.
Every photograph is fingerprinted, scored for sharpness and checked against the rest of your library — on the handset, with the screen off if you like. Nothing is uploaded, because there is nowhere for it to go.
A month arrives as a deck. The card tilts as you drag, the stamp comes up at the threshold, and the phone ticks under your thumb when it commits. It is the fastest way anybody has found to make two hundred small decisions.
The bin holds them until you open it and confirm. That is the only moment anything is deleted, it happens in one batch, and your phone asks you once rather than three hundred times.
Deleted photographs go to your phone's own trash, where they sit for a month. The deletion log keeps a record of exactly what went and when, and restore brings any of it back.
Everything it finds
A duplicate is not a judgement call. A burst of eleven nearly-identical photographs very much is. They are treated differently, deliberately.
Exact duplicates
Found by fingerprinting the image itself rather than trusting a file name, so the copy your messaging app made is caught even though it is called something else entirely.
Similar shots
Grouped by how alike they are and sorted by sharpness, with the best guess first — and then left alone. Nothing in a similar group is ever pre-ticked.
Blurred and dark
Sharpness is measured and then compared with everything else you have shot. A soft photograph in a crisp library stands out; a library that is soft throughout is not condemned for it.
Screenshots & recordings
Receipts, directions, half a conversation, a recipe from four years ago. Gathered by age, because the useful ones are always the recent ones.
Compress
Big videos and enormous stills re-encoded on the phone. You choose how hard, you see the before and after, and the original only goes to the bin once the smaller one is safely in your library.
Events
Photographs taken close together, in one place, become a suggestion: Saturday together? Twelve items. You give it a name and approve it.
Places
Coordinates already inside your own files, clustered into places. Turn on place names and the phone's own geocoder titles them; leave them off and it stays entirely local.
Hidden
Photographs you would rather not scroll past in front of somebody. They leave the gallery entirely and live behind a PIN of their own.
Cloud Backup
Originals copied to our servers, so a lost phone is not a lost decade. It is off until you turn it on, it is the only part of the app with an account, and you can open it in a browser.
The two things people worry about
Read the reviews of any cleaner and it is always the same two: will I lose a photograph I wanted, and what is this going to cost me.
Every swipe left goes to the Recycle Bin. Nothing leaves your library until you open the bin and confirm — and then it sits in your phone's own trash for another thirty days.

Sign in with the account you linked on your phone and everything you backed up is there — folders, videos, and anything you have since deleted from the handset. Signing in takes two steps: your provider, then a code we email you.
A recovery code is never typed into a website. It opens phones, never browsers — so any page asking for one is a fake, including one that looks like this.
Google or Apple, then a code we email you. There is no password to remember and no form on this page — the sign-in only ever happens on the site itself.
